Adult Classes 18+

Adult Modern Dance Wed. 6-7 pm  Summer 

Adult Modern Dance class is an intermediate-level technique class that incorporates a full-body movement warm-up, modern dance techniques, improvisation, and phrase work. Class is moderate to high energy and requires some previous experience with movement.

Adult Absolute Beginner Dance Wed. 5-6 pm Summer

Adult Absolute Beginner Dance class is a beginner-level technique class that incorporates a gentle full-body movement warm-up, dance techniques including Ballet, and Modern. This class requires no previous experience with movement.

Morning Ballet Sat. 10-11 am Summer

Morning Ballet is a gentle ballet class that will focus on learning how to connect to ballet movement and make it authentic to you and your body.  Some previous dance experience is good but not necessary.

Stretch, Strengthen and De-Stress Thur. 6-7 pm Summer

Stretch, Strengthen and De-Stress is a conditioning class for all types of people.  We will focus on flexibility, core-stability and always finish with a cool down that will leave you feeling relaxed and energized.

No experience needed.

Joy of Movement Tue 5-6 pm Summer

Joy of Movement is a dance class that is not about technique but instead focuses on finding joy and connecting to your body.  This class starts with a guided movement warm-up and develops into high energy fun and easy-to-follow steps, finishing with gentle stretching. 

No experience needed.

Fundamentals of Dance ages 9-12 Fall Semester

Fundamentals of Dance for boys and girls will develop a foundation of dance skills developing body awareness, self-confidence, and cooperation.  Introduction to Ballet, Improvisation, Yoga, and Modern Dance.  No previous experience needed.

 

*Junior Modern Dance ages 13-15 Fall Semester

Junior modern dance class is an intermediate-level technique class that incorporates a full-body movement warm-up, modern dance techniques, improvisation, and phrase work. Class is moderate to high energy and requires some previous experience with movement. Students who wish to perform in the youth ensemble must take this class.

 

Stretch, Strengthen, and De-Stress ages 13+ Thur. 5-6 pm Summer

Stretch, Strengthen and De-Stress is a conditioning class for all types of people.  We will focus on fitness and fun.  Working on flexibility, core-stability, and always finish with a cool down that will leave you feeling relaxed and energized.  The perfect way to unwind from a long school week. No experience needed.

Teen Dance Sampler age 10+ Tue 3-4 pm Summer

6-weeks of classes that will introduce Ballet, Modern, Improvisation and Yoga. Students will develop body awareness, stregth, flexibility and find the joy of dance in a friendly environment. Some dance experience is good but not necessary.

Make Your Own Dance Workshop age 10+ Tue 10+ 4:15-5:15pm Summer

This class is great for students who love to dance and need guidance choosing a theme, music, crafting choreography and rehearsing.  Performance optional.

*Modern Dance ages 16+ *Fall Semester

Modern dance class is an intermediate-level technique class that incorporates a full-body movement warm-up, modern dance techniques, improvisation, and phrase work. Class is moderate to high energy and requires some previous experience with movement. Students who wish to perform in the youth ensemble must take this class.

Youth RVDP Ensemble ages 13+ *Fall Semester (with performance opportunities)

RVDP Youth Ensemble will rehearsal weekly. Students will have an opportunity to learn choreography and create their own dance.  *Prerequisite is Thursday Modern Dance Class.

Youth Ballet ages 13+ *Fall Semester

Youth Ballet will focus on learning ballet vocabulary and developing a strong sense of technique, control, and coordination.  Some previous dance experience is helpful but not necessary.

Creative Dance ages 3-5 Tue. 10:30-11:15 am Summer

Creative Dance for boys and girls will introduce basic movement skills in a group environment that will foster body awareness, self-confidence, and cooperative play.  Perfect for your preschooler. No previous experience needed.

Creative Dance ages 6-9 Tue. 11:30-12:15 pm Summer

Candle-Lite Yoga Nights with Live Music, *Monthly Event, TBD

Take time away from the fast paced world and settle onto your mat for an hour of yoga lead by seasoned yogi and Certified Yoga Instructor Angela Stevens.  Live music provided to enhance your ability to relax and leave you feeling rejuvenated.

Open Floor Teen Night *Monthly Event Friday 7:30-9:30 pm June 25th

An evening for teens to get out and on the floor to show their talents or just support their friends.   In a friendly non-competitive space to get some practice in front of an audience. Poetry, Music, Dance, Drama…anything goes, the floor is open.  Sign up starts at 7:15 pm for your slot.  Come as you are!
