Linalynn Schmelzer

Linalynn Schmelzer is the founder and Director of River Valley Dance Project since 2014. 

 

She holds a B.F.A. in Dance from University of Massachusetts Five Colleges, an M.S. in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute, and is a Register Dance/Movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association.    

Linalynn was the recipient an Artist Grant from National Endowment for the Arts in 2011 and 2019.

In 2018 she joined the Connecticut Dance Alliances Board and is the Regional Coordinator for the Central Southern Connecticut Region. 

Kelsey Alexander

Kelsey Alexander is so happy to be performing with River Valley Dance Project for the first time. She has previously danced with Mystic Moves Dance. Kelsey works to prevent relationship violence and sexual assault among college students. She lives in Middletown, CT.

Marisa Valdisarra

Marissa Valdiserra is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. She is the Clinical Director of Home-Based Services for a non-profit agency and is excited to announce that she has recently combined her passion for movement and helping others to form her own private practice, Mind Body Counseling. Marisa uses movement and play therapy to address attachment needs between infants and their caregivers, while also working with children and adults who have experienced various forms of trauma. Marisa has been a member of River Valley Dance Project for the last 4 ½ years and loves being a part of this collaborative effort that brings dance and movement to communities across Connecticut.
